DESCRIPTION: An early 20th C. Japanese bamboo ikebana basket with tall handle, four short feet and fitted solid copper lining. This double weave basket has a horizontal under-weave and a parallel diagonal outer weave which forms a star pattern. Two parallel bands with a center diagonal pattern decorate the rim. A very fine basket in excellent condition, with an old collector’s sticker on the base. From a Japanese American collection.
