DESCRIPTION: A very fine hand painted Satsuma tea set, complete with teapot, sugar and creamer, all with original knobbed lids. The bodies have a very pleasing, plump ovoid form and the hand painting is exquisitely detailed with gilt and colorful enamels in a wisteria motif. The purple and orange wisteria spill from the lids to the bodies of the serving pieces in a continuous motif. A black and gold geometric design bands the rims and lids, making a striking border to frame each piece.
