DESCRIPTION: A fine smoked reed basket in a graceful ovoid form, woven in an open pattern with horizontal reed bands. The basket is complemented by a bent bamboo handle with a butterfly knot centered at the top, and is firmly secured to the basket on each side with three-prong woven supports. Signed by the artist on the base, this basket was in a private Georgia collection since 1975
