DESCRIPTION: A dark purple zitan Chinese wood toggle (guajian) carved the form of a plump pig, most likely celebrating the Year of the Pig around the turn of the century, C. 1899, 1911 or 1923. A hole has been bored through the pig’s mouth in order to thread a cord for suspension. Excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: 2 5/8” long (6.6 cm) x 1 ½” high (3.8 cm).
