DESCRIPTION: A finely carved Chinese boxwood toggle of a frog with bumpy skin climbing onto a lotus seed pod. This charming frog would have been used as a counterweight for a tobacco pouch or other object suspended from a belt by a cord laced through its open areas. Displaying a nice patina from use and handling, this little frog is in excellent condition and a wonderful Chinese folk art piece; 19th C., Qing Dynasty. DIMENSIONS: 2” High (5 cm).
